and sold the Sportser for
some extra money to start the business and stayed out of
motorcycling for many years. Tim got the itch to ride again 1996
and we found a great deal on a 1994 Road King. That started our
involvement with HOG as life time members. Even though we live
in Miami, known for the most aggressive drivers, we loved riding
together. Tim got to be an excellent rider and had trained with
Don Loonie, a motor officer instructor in our HOG club. |
We are now starting new classes for beginner riders through the
Motorcycle Safety Foundation, which will teach all the basic
knowledge for riding motorcycles. They will have a full range
course, which means more riding time and experience at the
PHCC - Pasco Hernando Community College
(East Campus) 36727 Blanton Road, Dade City , FL 33523-7599.
The Basic Rider Course's Core curriculum is designed to teach
beginning motorcyclists of all ages the physical and mental
skills necessary to ride safely on the street.

 |
 |
The course includes basic motorcycle operation, maximum
effective braking techniques, turning skills, and obstacle
avoidance maneuvers. There are 5 hours of classroom instruction
and ten hours of "hands-on" motorcycle training. The program
Rider Coaches are experienced motorcycle operators and
nationally certified by the Motorcycle Safety Foundation.
Once both of the exams are completed with a
passing score, the applicant will receive a waiver and be exempt
from further testing to obtain a motorcycle endorsement. Passing
this course will also provide discounts on insurance and other
items.
